Exposure data

For earthquakes, cyclones and droughts, the documentation gives the share of a few countries in the draw of a disaster. These shares come from the exposure that the game estimates for each country, from the following sources. The site contains only these shares, and no record from the sources.

Earthquakes. U.S. Geological Survey, ANSS Comprehensive Earthquake Catalog (ComCat). U.S. public domain. earthquake.usgs.gov/data/comcat. Some of the earthquakes in this catalogue come from other catalogues, under their own licence (below).

Political data

The labs of the parties, governments and votes show the French National Assembly as the game loads it: each party's position on twelve sliders, its votes and its seats. They come from the sources below. The game has transformed them. The votes are scaled to 100 over the parties kept, and the votes of an alliance of parties are shared among them in proportion to their seats. The names of the parties and of their leaders are invented by the game.

Data of the PREEMINENCE page

The PREEMINENCE page draws a few of the series the game starts from, as the game loads them, rounded to one decimal. The site holds only the series it draws.

The model

The PREEMINENCE documentation describes model v0.2. Every equation and every value in it comes from published studies, cited where they are used and gathered in the bibliography.
